Ari Lennox
Courtney Shanade Salter, also called Ari Lennox, a Washington, D.C.-based American singer/songwriter, was signed as Dreamville Records' debut female singer with Dreamville Records by J. Cole. In October 2016, Ari Lennox released her debut EP Pho. The EP was where she was recognized. Shea Butter Baby released her first album of studio work 7 May 2019. Ari Lennox uploaded her songs online in 2012, when she dropped her Five Finger Discount mixtape and Ariography EP in 2013. In 2014, Ari Lennox dropped her single Bound and her mixtape, which she released herself, Five Finger Discount. In 2015, she appeared on Omen's Elephant Eyes album on Sweat it out on 21st July. J. Cole was interested in her talent and wanted to collaborate in conjunction with Rihanna. It was announced on the 8th of December that she had signed with Dreamville Records. Backseat was a track she sang alongside Cozz on the Revenge of the Dreamers II collaboration album. In October of 2016 the singer-songwriter released her debut EP, Pho. Ari Lennox then appeared as the opening performance on behalf of J. Cole on his song Change in 2017, and was a part of the 4 Your Eyez Only Tour. She also appeared on the tracks Nothing but the Best by EarthGang as well as Icarus along with Bas and her labelmates. The debut album of Ari Lennox Shea Butter Baby was released on 16 July 2018. The album's first single, called Whipped Cream of the album dropped on the 5th of September, 2018 and featured a a music video. Then on the 9th November, she released another two singles called 40 Shades of Choke (and Grampa). On November 13 she then released two more singles called The No One and Pedigree. Shea Butter Baby. Shea Butter Baby later made an appearance in the Creed II album soundtrack alongside Cole. She dropped this track as a single to promote her debut titled Creed II on 26 February 2019. The track was made available with a video on YouTube February 20, 2019 has been watched over 3 million times within the first 7 days. In December of 2018, she was part of The From East Atlanta With Love Tour featuring 6LACK.
